Member Committees, affiliated with ACFR, have unique meeting and membership requirements designed to respond to their specific locale. We encourage you to contact a Committee near you to learn more. If you do not live near a Committee, you may join as an “At Large” member. Should you be interested in “At Large” membership, please contact us at the contact information provided on this site, or approach our board members.

ACFR’s Member Committees are spread across the nation. They have over 1200 individual members. Each local ACFR affiliated Committee has its own membership requirements.

The Committees participate in the ACFR Speakers Program which facilitates and supports the over 100 meetings of our committees in a unique manner: It connects government agencies, officials, distinguished foreign service members, leading think tanks, consultancies, businesses, and associations with the Committees and provides prominent speakers with exceptional expertise and experience in current foreign policy issues. Such speakers include Ambassadors, former Ambassadors, State Department officials, Officers of the military, and policy experts from highly reputable organizations. Many committees also engage local foreign relations experts pertinent to their specific markets and conditions.

The in-person Member Committee meetings, usually on a monthly basis, are the heart of our work. They generally provide an opportunity to meet the speaker, engage in discussions, and gain additional knowledge and information.

Many individual members of ACFR’s affiliated Committees actively participate in the ACFR Annual Conference, the Young Leaders Initiative, volunteer their services, and are member of the ACFR Board of Directors or its governing committees.
